Joining the FOL is easy! Just come to one of our meetings and let us know how you want to be engaged with what is happening at the Library!
The Friends of the Library play a vital role in supporting our library’s growth, programs, and community impact. Whether you have an hour to spare or want to dive into hands-on leadership, there are many ways you can make a difference:
1. Program & Volunteer Support
- Event Assistance: Help set up, run, or clean up after children’s storytimes, craft workshops, and seasonal library activities.
- Library Beautification: Lend a hand with seasonal decorating, indoor plant care, or making reading spaces extra welcoming.
- Hospitality: Help coordinate refreshments or treats for special library events and staff appreciation days.
2. Leadership & Special Projects
- Board Participation: Run for an officer position (President, Treasurer, Secretary) to help guide our group’s goals and budget.
- Share Your Skills: Contribute professional talents—such as grant writing, graphic design, accounting, or web management—to support special library projects.
3. Advocacy & Outreach
- Spread the Word: Act as a library ambassador by sharing upcoming events and programs with your friends, family, and neighbors.
- Community Tables: Help represent the Friends at local festivals, farmers markets, and community gatherings.
- Library Advocacy: Support and champion initiatives that secure strong local backing for our library.
4. Fundraising & Community Events
- Book Sales: Help collect, sort, and price donated books to raise funds for new library resources.
- Special Events: Assist with planning, setting up, or running community fundraisers and guest author nights.
- Membership Drives: Help spread the word and invite new members to join our active support network.
- Join The Next Chapter Campaign: Help us to raise money for our new library!
